About Me

Hello and welcome!

I’m Jennifer Onyebuchi - a Data Scientist and AI practitioner currently pursuing my Master’s in Data Science at the University of British Columbia, Canada. My work sits at the intersection of data, education, and social impact, where I use data to uncover patterns, tell meaningful stories, and inform better decisions.

I have experience applying machine learning, statistical analysis, and data visualization to real-world problems, building solutions such as interactive dashboards and predictive models. I’m particularly interested in how data can be used to highlight inequalities and improve access to opportunities, especially in underserved communities.

Beyond technical work, I am the founder of the Tech Big Sis Foundation, where I lead initiatives that introduce children and young girls in underserved African communities to digital skills and artificial intelligence. Through this work, I have trained and mentored hundreds of learners, shaping my approach to building technology that is inclusive, accessible, and grounded in real-world context.

I am deeply interested in responsible and ethical AI, particularly in ensuring that emerging technologies are designed not just for but with the communities they impact.

I’m driven by problems that go beyond the dataset -problems that require understanding people, context, and impact.

Beyond the Work

When I’m not wrangling data or running programmes, I enjoy mentoring emerging leaders, public speaking, and finding creative intersections between technology and social good.
